Medibank picks Whybin\TBWA Melbourne after shootout with incumbent George Patterson Y&R
Medibank has picked Whybin\TBWA Melbourne as its new creative partner after a long drawn-out pitch that included incumbent George Patterson Y&R as well as BMF and DDB earlier in the pitch process.
Says Chris Carroll, General Manager Marketing and Group Brand: “Medibank is going through an exciting transformation from health insurance to health assurance. As we embark on this new chapter, we’re excited to have Whybin\TBWA Melbourne on board to deliver on our communication objectives. They presented the most insightful, creative and integrated approach during the pitch process, which complements our new direction.
“Medibank has worked with George Patterson Y&R on a number of campaigns over the past few years, which has been a positive and results-driven relationship. GPYR has been responsible for a number of key Medibank marketing milestones, including a new product suite launch, the television launch of our travel insurance and the current campaign, ‘The insurance your health deserves’. Importantly, GPYR was also responsible for the Letters series of ads, which are some of the best performing adverts in the industry in terms of recognition and branding. BoilerRoom has worked on supporting the diversified business and other operational elements of our Marketing with great insight and professionalism.
“I’d like to extend my thanks to George Patterson Y&R and BoilerRoom for all their hard work and dedication to Medibank,” said Mr Carroll.

Patts can’t seem to take a trick, but at least Russel Howcroft has moved to 5 nights a week, yawn.
Nice one Whybin/TBWA, well deserved.
Nice work Watto

Hang on, I’m sick, and have just been to the hospital. Can I now shop around all the health insurers to see who’s got the best deal for me?
I don’t think so.
So why do it to us Chris?
Maybe Mr Howcroft should spend more time in front of his clients rather than the cameras.
Whybins are an awesome new-business machine. Now let’s hope they match that with some good advertising, not more middle-of-the-road dross.
Cheeky Nappa…Cheeky
Ouch. First Biscuits now hospitals.
If only the amount you get back on Medibank claims were as predictable as them changing agencies every three years. They really are getting quite a reputation.
Someone better hurry up and jump before someone is pushed
Nappa is so hot right now. I don’t blame them.
Good work from Whybin\TBWA – congrats.
Reardon’s hair sealed the deal.
Congrats, and commiserations – your team/s will soon be demoralised.
Whenever a client wants a race to the shallow end of the ad pool, agencies like Wybins will always win.
The wise old fart knows very little… He’s clearly not aware what’s been happening at Whybin\TBWA Melbourne over the last year.

What do you mean? Look at the improvements they’ve made to ANZ since they got it. Oh, yes.
