McCann Melbourne and RID take the sting out of irritating vuvuzelas with topical radio spot
On the back of the international irritation over the disruptive sound of vuvuzelas, McCann Melbourne has created a topical radio commercial for RID insect repellent. En masse the annoying drone of the plastic horns has been compared to a hive of bees or a swarm of mosquitos, so it was a natural fit for RID Australia’s most trusted insect repellent. We hear a football commentator’s voice smothered by vuvuzelas. Relief from the sound comes in the form of strong spray of RID. It will run on FM radio over coming weeks.

So awesome. Great idea.
Yeah nice, haven’t seen much from McCanns good to see some fresh thinking coming out of there!
Damn vuvuzelas
Nice idea was dying for it.
Hope they don’t get into trouble for mentioning a FIFA players name.

That is AWESOME!!! Original and well executed. Even the Haters on here should love it
Great, topical piece, but relevance to winter? Shame it’s not summer – this would be an absolute winner for sure.
Like that?
Then you’ll LOVE the exact same tv execution for ‘OFF!’ on AdsofTheWorld.com today.
So you could only get 9 people from your agency to comment?
