M&C Saatchi NZ snares Orcon business
Orcon as appointed M&C Saatchi, Auckland as its new advertising agency after less than a year with DraftFCB.
Prior to DraftFCB the business was of course with Special Group, creators of one of New Zealand’s most awarded campaigns of the year – Orcon Broadband’s ‘Orcon + Iggy Pop’, which won a host of national and international awards in 2010 including the Grand Prix in Direct at Cannes.
Taryn Hamilton, GM retail at Orcon, says M&C Saatchi was chosen on the merit of the team’s creative thinking and strong team focus. Says Hamilton: “We were impressed with M&C Saatchi’s approach, creativity and strategy. We’re all about innovation, challenging the market, and M&C really showed they understood where we are coming from, and how to help drive our business forward.”
Says M&C Saatchi chief executive Darryn Melrose: “We’ve admired the Orcon brand for a number of years now, so when we were asked to work on it we leapt at the chance.
“It’s rare you come across an organisation that gets innovation and keeps a focus on customer satisfaction, as well as having such a strong brand. Combined with our own focus on delivering business results, we feel certain there is huge opportunity to help grow Orcon’s business. We’re really excited to be working with them.”
M&C Saatchi will kick off its partnership with Orcon with a new campaign, scheduled to launch in the New Year.
