This weekend marks the official start of the intensive campaign to launch Mazda’s All-New Mazda CX-5. From Sunday, the digitally created cheetah featured in the teaser campaign over the last fortnight will morph into the category changing SUV the market has been waiting for.
All the advantages of this new generation of SUV will be brought to life in a fully integrated campaign created by 1MAZDA@Clemenger Harvie. It covers TV, print, digital, and outdoor mediums as well as complete direct and CRM activities.

The VO is crap! but the AD looks great !. the Cheetah looks real. That could have turned out badly but did’nt.
The kids will love it.
Good to see a car company spending some money again.
Bastard TOIA!
Good job, another shit idea well saved.
What an old school spot for what is supposed to be such a new school car. And you had to go to New York for the less than great cgi
We’re gonna need a bigger budget.
seamless elegant stuff Mark!
cheers Bruce
So average in so many ways.
Digitally created, digital looking. You could’ve gotten more emotion from a cheetah rug draped over some boxes.
An OK concept, just so blandly executed. Totally average on the whole.
I hope the car company didn’t spend too much money on this, I can’t see it being around for too long.
I hate car ads in general. Fucked clients, fucked briefs.

1. If that’s a real looking Cheetah, I need to watch more Attenborough.
2. Since when do kids buy SUVs?
3. I don’t think that much money was spent on that one, do you really?
usually you wait until the negative comments roll in before you to start commenting anonymously on your own work.
Saw this one last night.
The post is jaw droppingly awful!!!
You went to New York for this?? Well I hope you picked up your duty free booze and had a great time. What a bloody waste!!
The fur texturing on the cheetah looks unrealistic and the car animation is equally as unnatural looking.
Looks like a previs.
In future save the money on airfares and use one of the several great VFX houses in Australia.
No story. Just a polished metaphor. Bugger. It’s such a nice looking SUV, too.
looks like Toia. I also miss the 90’s.
Truly awful concept, even worse execution. And talking yourself up with fake comments as usual. Will the real Bruce Hunt please stand up.
hi I’m standing anonymous First AD. do the same – put your NAME to a comment .
just awful
and does it bug anyone else that a speeding cheetah morphs into a car travelling at 60kph?
Congratulations on your new ad. The morphing cheetah is magnificient – whoever created THAT should win something!!!! ……not often I bother watching ads…..but this one really holds your attention. WOW!!!
