sixty forty one.jpgMatt Taylor from Sixty40 will launch his new comic book “To the End of the World” featuring Lars the Last Viking. The exhibition will include images of the original pages from the book. Graphic novelist Pat Grant will officially open the book launch and exhibition, which runs from 19th to 20th August at China Heights Gallery in Sydney.

Taylor immersed himself in the task of his latest rendering: the 48 page, perfect bound, numbered edition saga that is Lars the Last Viking Goes to the End of the World, after his return from last year’s graphic novel residency at The Atlantic Centre for the Arts in Florida alongside master artists Paul Pope and Craig Thompson. Taylor was one of 24 selected from hundreds of global applicants.

The exhibition will further Taylor’s bold and recognisable draftsmanship with a display of the large original drawings and a site-specific mural, all humourously derived from this original take on viking legend.

Taylor will be present at the launch to sign advance copies of Lars the Last Viking Goes to the End of the World and will be doing a live reading of his comic book against a projection of the artwork.
