Ward6, Sydney has hung upside-down crosses in trees throughout Sydney to draw attention to the widespread shooting of flying foxes throughout NSW on behalf of greycross.org.

Assuming that anyone saw these hanging from the one tree they were in, how would they know what it was about?
The 10 point type on the back of the cross would be hard to read given that its hanging from a tree and 6 ft above everyone’s head.

Not sure they did their research on this one.
The upsidedown cross has ALWAYS been a simple of Satanism.

research was done and all the five major religions were consulted and all said the upside down cross has nothing to do with the statanic.

Saw them hanging in Glebe at eye level – looked good!
I saw these hanging in the tree outside Jets in Bondi, looked cool!

Just to clarify the comments from Jan 24 4.13pm and Jan 25 9.16am;
The upside crosses did not work in isolation as the press release could convey.
These were merely an unbranded media stunt.
Channels to convert the campaign included fliers, brochures, t-shirts, website and an official launch by political campaigner Geoffry Cousins at Birchgrove Oval.
At this launch there were upside down crosses hanging in trees in the background.
This generated some good PR and has resulted in 7,500 signatures that were sent to the NSW Governemnt to ban the shooting of this endangered species.

Totally lost on the public , its advertising aimed at the ad community,purely designed to win an ambient award……which it most certainly wont.
Give it a rest fail jockeys and go make a campaign you’re proud of. Got results, nice idea. Better than any of the people on here have produced this year. Cause everything else has been shit as far as I’m concerned.
my animal work activist work colleague saw this in birchgrove then picked up a flier and logged in to the website and signed a petition online to the website. Dont know how that didn’t work with the public.
The bigger question is why? These things are in record numbers, are pretty vile and can carry the potentially fatal Lyssavirus. I think a couple of people died just recently as a result of a scratch or bite. What’s next, save the Malarial mosquito? The box Jellyfish? Not bagging the work as it’s elegant enough, but WHY?
2.19, they are probably a vital part of the ecosystem, spreading native seeds, continuing biodiversity etc etc

I read that 700 of these things died in my area today and celebrated wildly.
They poo on my car and house, destroy the trees around me and leave nothing left for birdlife, possums and anything else. I agree with 2.19 whole heartedly.
Why would we need a campaign to protect something which is around in record numbers and which wreak so much havoc? So 5.20, you can keep your seeds – I’m with Ozzy Osbourne and the other satanic worshippers above. Lets start our own campaign to bite the head off a bat!
To the genius at 2.19… people kill, rape, pillage and are much worse for the eco-system than any animal or plant. So why try and save them, let them die – destroy??
