MacNamara named creative director at The Works
Kevin MacNamara has been named creative director at The Works, Sydney – reporting to agency creative partner Kevin Macmillan.
Starting out in London under the tutelage of Dave Trott, MacNamara (near left, with Macmilan) has worked at Clemenger BBDO, Sydney – unfortunately retrenched in 2008 at the height of the GFC – and before that BWM Sydney (where he co-created the awarded Sumo Salad spot and Telstra Big Pond campaign), and has been recognised at international award shows such as D&AD, The One Show, London International Awards and Cannes.
For Macmillan, someone as multi-talented as MacNamara was a natural choice for the creatively led agency: “The Works was started by two creatives who truly believed in a better model and went about developing it. With strong business growth we needed to hire another creative capable of leading the business. Kevin not only understands our model of Creatives on the Forefront, he possesses the unique qualities that it demands.”
According to MacNamara the efficiencies of The Works’ agency model was a big draw card: “At The Works the creatives are directly in touch with the clients. This can cut out a lot of wasted time and energy, increasing the chances of producing great creative work.”
Adds Macmillan: “Kevin is a heavy hitting creative. Not many creatives out there have had a TVC accepted into the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Kevin has.”

Nice one, mate. See you in the annuals!
congrats to you both, top news!
Well done Kev. I may have lost an art director but The Works have gained a great CD. All the best, I know you’ll do fantastic work.
Congrats Kev – bet it was the Pizza haven branding spot that landed it!
Great news. Well done Kev, you’ll kill it.
Top work mate. All the best.
He’s not only a heavy hitting creative, he’s quite heavy…
Kev was singing, ‘I’m a little teapot’ when they took that photo…
ou est Mon. Pincus?
Well done Kev. Great hire, Kev’s a top bloke.
Shame about his taste in football team.
Pincus is standing just out of frame on the left hand side. You can see the glow coming off his bald head…
Well done Kev, thats brilliant news. Looking forward to catching up for a few beers on the weekend.
Is Macmillan standing on a box?
Not bad going for a lad from Peckham. All the best from another lad from Peckham.
Almost as good as a 4 legged chicken!
The Two Kev’s. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THREE OF YOU.
Good news Kevin & Kevin – and Damian. You’ve obviously proven you can withstand Mr Pincus’ Public School boy humour. Await a burst of good ads.
I think he’s standing on Damian.
Ay up, Fat Kev!
Told you starting in Adelaide would pay off someday.
Beers are on you, pal.
