To promote the Splice brand extension, Splice Real Fruit, Unilever has released a reality TV show Dave & Amber ‘Get Real’. Created by Soap Creative, the first two episodes have been released online and on YouTube.

Each of the Big Brother-style two-minute videos has a cast of animated fruit characters join Dave and Amber as they aim to live the dream of becoming part of a new Splice Real Fruits.

hoff.jpegEnsemble, Mediabrand’s branded content division, also developed a sampling activation concept to drive awareness and trial of the new product. To kick off the activity, the world’s most famous lifesaver, David Hasselhoff lead a ‘Splice Rescue’ team at Bondi Beach on Monday 3rd January, then travelled to Main Beach on Queensland’s Gold Coast on Wednesday to continue rescuing beach-goers and treating sun lovers on the beach to Splice Real Fruits ice blocks.

Launch activity will be supported by ongoing sampling by the Splice Rescue team at beaches across the country throughout January.

The Hoff also appears in the digital component of the campaign – an animated series called ‘Dave & Amber’. The below the line and sampling activity is supported by outdoor and TVC.
