Professional photography industry body to join Arts Freedom Australia rally to fight increasing limitations, imposed fees and bureaucracy

Photographers around the globe are continuing to endure increasing limitations, imposed fees and bureaucratic application processes when undertaking commercial and non-commercial projects in public spaces.  The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (‘AIPP’) will join forces with Arts Freedom Australia (AFA) to stage a public rally near Campbell Cove, Sydney Harbour on Sunday 29th August, 2010 from 10am to 12noon.

AFA completed a comparative study of legislation and policies imposedon photographers and film-makers within Australia, Canada, New Zealandand the United States of America.  The results demonstrate that therights of Australian photographers and film-makers are being seriouslyaffected by rules and regulations that impose prohibitive restrictions,high fees and bureaucratic application protocols.

Photographers are encouraged to turn up with tripods and cameras toprotest against the treatment received when undertaking theirprofession in a public domain.

The AIPP will be represented by newly appointed president, Mr Robert Edwards and supported by AIPP members.
