Lavender, Sydney works with indigenous students to inspire corporate Australia
When Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships was renamed Jawun, it looked to Lavender Sydney for its new website.
Jawun forms partnerships between Indigenous communities and Corporate Australia. So Lavender’s idea was to form a partnership with indigenous students to create the website from scratch.
In a three-month process, the agency will recruit, train and work together with indigenous students from Redfern-Waterloo to create the site.
The entire process is being documented by director Gary Cunliffe of Plump Films, and will appear in regular webisodes. You can follow the progress at www.jawun.org.au now. The final site will go live on November 2010.
Says Lavender executive creative director Luke Chess (left): “The idea is thatas we build the site itself, we demonstrate Jawun’s purpose. It’s anapproach we hope will encourage deeper involvement in the site, andmore sharing of knowledge and skills between Australian companies andindigenous communities.”
Adds Karyn Baylis, Jawun’s CEO: “The people at Lavender have shown agenuine desire to be part of a journey and to engage and learn from it.The outcome can only benefit all. How motivating!”
