The Youngblood’s Great Debate last night in Melbourne was a huge success, with more than a full house  – 40 over the limit – of the industry’s best and brightest attending.

The debate topic: ‘Can something as commercial as advertising ever be considered art?’ was answered in Art vs. Advertising – The Great Debate, hosted by Vic Youngbloods in association with the 8th Annual Lighthouse Art Auction.

Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne CEO Peter Biggs (near left) was adjudicator, who gave a rousing wrap up before handing the decision over to the audience to decide.

The affirmative team – Dave Ponce de Leon, Ken Taylor and Dave Callen – came away victorious, proving advertising CAN be considered art.

The event raised $2,100 for the Lighthouse Foundation, a great effort to a wonderfully worthy cause. VIC Youngblood’s would like to thank Kane Bowden, CEO of the Lighthouse Foundation for partnering with them for this event.
