iSelect launches fiery new ‘Billusionist’ spot in health insurance campaign via Fenton Stephens
How do you follow a talking dove, ninja stars and a cannon shot to the face? You pull a bill kebab from your stomach and set it on fire. After first tackling the private health insurance rate rise and the Federal Government’s regulatory changes, iSelect’s Billusionist will now solve Australia’s end of financial year insurance-related woes by setting their bills ablaze.
The same team from Melbourne independent, Fenton Stephens, and Exit produced the spot. Directed by Michael Clowater, post was handled by Blockhead and sound design by Production Alley.
Says Warren Hebard, Chief Marketing Officer, iSelect: “The lead-up to June 30 is a busy time of year for private health insurance as government incentives prompt many Aussies to sign up for or review their policy. This latest spot taps into the confusion felt by customers about how the various levies, loadings and surcharges might impact them.”

iGuess that’ll work to reinforce the iSelect promise, but wonder why there is this continuing trend of daggy undergraduate humour so prevalent in so many ads (such as this one). May be I’m too young? iMean iJust used iSelect and this is poles apart from my CX.
Love it J & G!
Gold.
Has anyone thought for just one moment about actually selling the thing you’re trying to sell? Bring back the old campaign with the funny daggy bloke – it’s not too late.
From one unbiased ad man to another. I f**king love these!
Not terrible, but not good.
Poo potatoes.
One is reminded of KFC Hot and Spicy.
Overall, you need to be a mental contortionist to follow the frenetic pace of this work.
Branding is crucial in this category, and I question whether the great unwashed will have either the stamina or concentration to bother attributing this whirlwind of attempted entertainment to iSelect.
This is not good at all. Cheesy but not in a good way.
