Is the latest Pure Blonde ad the best beer ad yet? 84% say no according to poll in the Australian
It hardly seems a fair question, and it’s up against The Big Ad, any number of Guinness and Carling Black Label spots, and any other great ad in the history of advertising, but the online Media section of the Australian has asked viewers if they think the latest Pure Blonde ad is the best beer ad yet.
Since the spot went up on the site on Friday, there’s been 494 votes, with 84% voting No.
On the other hand, the encouraging thing for Foster’s is that 16% are voting Yes.
Further, more than 70,000 people have viewed the ad on YouTube since Friday. It has received nearly three times as many likes as dislikes [109 Likes, 44 Dislikes].
As CB has previously reported, visitors to the Media section of The Australian’s website can now view Ad Watch, a daily dose of Australia’s best commercials, courtesy of an arrangement with www.bestadsontv.com.
And it’s proven to be an instant hit – last week elevated from the bottom to the top of the Media section, making it even more visible to ad lovers.
It’s a free plug for the latest work of Australasia’s best ad agencies and production companies, who will now reach a very media-savvy audience, including a fair few clients.
The spots will change often and be mainly Aussie or Kiwi produced. So make sure you upload your latest and best commercials or web films direct to Bestads.
The Bestads arrangement with The Australian adds to the one already in place with Channel 9’s Today Show, which features a regular fortnightly Bestads segment fronted by BWM chairman, Rob Belgiovane.

sorry, but it’s not a good beer ad. looks like clems has got only one speed – take the piss i.e. four n twenty, cartlon draught, pure blonde, carlton dry.
That one speed has made them the most awarded agency in the country. I’d like some of that speed here.
did i miss something?
Agreed, I don’t GET this ad? And it shits me. Stupid fat guy.
