Interbrand announces new management line-up
Interbrand Australia has today announced its most significant leadership changes since CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Damian Borchok arrived in 2007.
General manager of Interbrand Melbourne, Andy Wright, (pictured left), will join the Sydney team as a divisional general manager.
Interbrand Melbourne’s current director of strategy, Nick Davis, (pictured below), will replace Wright as general manager, Melbourne.
Wright will spearhead Interbrand Sydney’s focus on brand experience, integrating the design of physical and digital environments, as well as using analytics and strategic planning to understand and enhance the customer journey.
Interbrand Melbourne has announce the appointment of Oliver Maltby as creative director, alongside Nick Davis’s promotion.
Maltby joins the team from The Chase in London where he was creative director. He has previously been awarded a D&AD pencil, Cannes Gold Lion and a number of other top design industry awards.
Says Wright: “I am very excited about what the leadership changes mean for the team in Melbourne. We have scoured the globe to find a creative director that compares to the success of Chris Maclean and Mike Rigby in our Sydney studio. It is with equal enthusiasm that I hand over the reigns of Interbrand Melbourne to Nick Davis. Nick has already proved himself a strong leader, and his ability to deliver and present challenging work has been recognised as a unique strength by our clients.
“For me personally, I welcome the opportunity to further develop the unique breadth of Interbrand’s offer in Sydney. We have a very strong client base and exceptional talent, and I’m looking forward to working on projects that showcase our unique understanding of brands and the experience that can be delivered through digital and physical environments.”
Since Damian Borchok’s appointment to CEO in 2007, Interbrand has doubled in size every year and won multiple awards for both creative and commercial performance.
Richard Curtis, managing director, Interbrand Sydney said he is confident these changes will continue the significant growth Interbrand has enjoyed over the past four years under Damian’s skilful leadership.
Curtis further commented on Interbrand’s new leadership saying: “Andy’s track record in growing the Melbourne studio, winning some spectacular pitches and creating award-winning ideas makes him the ideal person to add another facet to our unique breadth of services in Sydney. Our focus on brand experience will not only enhance our existing offers but also introduce new ways in which we can help our clients create valuable brands that stand apart.”

Great news Nick. Well deserved.
Congratulations Andy.
Welcome back to Sydney.
Interbrand is going from strength to strength. It would be hard not to under Damian though, he’s as smart as they come.
