Icon Agency appoints senior creatives Ken Parris III and Gareth Fitzpatrick in Sydney

Creatives Kenneth E. Parris III and Gareth Fitzpatrick have joined leading integrated communications firm Icon Agency to head a new Sydney creative offering.

Parris has over 15 years of experience in brand building, visual design and fine art where he has exhibited work in galleries across the United States. Parris’s background includes stints as CD at DDB New York on Hasbro and Topps Candy, along with creative campaigns for Subaru, Qantas, Visa, ANZ – pretty much everything from luxury brands to rock bands.

Fitzpatrick brings with him a wealth of experience across creative agencies and in-house teams in London, Melbourne and Sydney, including Pepsi, AMEX, Tennis Australia, and Commbank. This experience in both agency and client side equips him with a great understanding of brand strategy and a commitment to well-crafted results-driven creativity.

Parris and Fitzpatrick’s arrival at Icon continues the agency’s commitment to interdisciplinary problem-solving, creativity and effectiveness.

Says Michael Knox, executive creative director, Icon Agency: “Bringing Ken and Gareth into the team in Sydney continues the exciting period of growth and change we’re experiencing. It’s great to have them both here and I’m looking forward to working with them and seeing what they’ll bring to our culture and work.”

Says Joanne Painter, group managing director, Icon Agency: “The addition of Kenneth and Gareth to our team embodies Icon’s outcome-first thinking. Merging communication, technology, and behavioural insights yields exceptional creativity and tangible outcomes. We are excited for this next chapter at Icon.”

The creative duo will work across Icon’s growing technology and government client portfolio, including Meta, Salesforce, DFAT and the Department of Home Affairs.

Recent strong growth in NSW, which has seen the Icon team expand from 3 to almost 30 in three years, has also prompted a move to new headquarters in Surry Hills.
