Hunter launches in Melbourne and Auckland

Simon-HAKIM.jpgMatt.jpgStart-up Hunter has recently launched in both Melbourne and Auckland, as a creative agency with a digital heart.  Headed up by Simon Hakim (far left), previously from Melbourne advertising agency The Surgery, and Matthew Gibbins (above right), who was the founding partner and creative director of Albion London.

At Albion, Gibbins oversaw clients including; Blackberry, InnocentDrinks and Skype.  Prior to founding Albion, he worked atWieden+Kennedy London and KesselsKramer Amsterdam.  Albion’s agencymodel inspired the set-up for Hunter; a digitally-led integrated agency.

Hunter has transferred The Surgery’s existing clients to the agencyroster, including Grolsch, LeasePlan and Dr Follicles. The agency hasalso had recent new business wins, picking up work for Rhodia, theiconic French stationery, and Frameworks for Health, a healthconsultancy based out of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Says Gibbins: “We believe that marketers are ready for a change andthat Hunter was definitely up for the challenge. Both Simon and I areexcited with the team we’ve put together and the opportunities that lieahead.”

Hunter currently employs around 12 staff across its two offices, and plans to expand to London within the next 12-18 months.
