Grey Melbourne wins Gold at One Show Interactive for TAC ‘Everybody Hurts’ web film

Grey Melbourne has taken out a Gold Pencil for their TAC ‘Everybody Hurts’ web film in the Public Service/ Non-Profit – Single category at the 13th Annual One Show Interactive tonight in New York, one of only 22 Golds awarded on the night. Australia’s only other winner was Droga5 Sydney, which scored Bronze for their Virgin Mobile ‘Right Music Wrongs’ work in the Short Form – Single category.
TAC Road Safety and Marketing Senior Manager John Thompson said the hundreds of comments on YouTube – the spot has had 3 million hits so far – were a testament to the powerful message of the montage: “This award is the icing on the cake, knowing that the montage has been viewed by so many people across Victoria and the world,” says Thompson.
“It has proven the powerful effect that emotive advertisements can have on attitudes to driving – they remind people why it’s important to drive safely. The award is a credit to Grey Melbourne for their work with the TAC over 20 years.”

Where the hell are all the Australians! Only ones here are me and Jay Benjamin. And we don’t really count…as Australians.
Great film well deserved. I love the fact that they recycled all their work from the past into something new and even more powerful. Keep up the great work, you are making a difference.
How many awards has Grey won for the TAC? It would have to be the most lucrative client in the history of Australian advertising from an awards point of view.
Not criticising…
Hey Lynchy,
This really resonated with me. I think it’s worth posting as an article in it’s own right. I think we should really inspire each other rather than just tearing strips off each other. This industry beats the crap out of us, and we’re all great at judging everyone else’s creativity and making them feel shit about themselves when really we’re all on our own personal journey.

It’s great man. It really brings meaning to my life as a creative person and makes me feel like anything is possible really. Please spin it how you will but it’s something that all of us desperately need to see and hear.
Cheers,
Annon!
No one should have the right to call their website Ted.com except Ted Horton, whose wisdom on advertising and so much more deserves its own bookmark.
Congratulations to Nigel and everybody else involved in the outstanding TAC work over the years. Very well deserved.
For twenty years Grey have mad advertising that is powerful, sometimes judged too powerful, for community taste.
As a kid I remember the slogan ‘Declare war on 1034’.
Today, despite the population doubling in Victoria, thanks to this campaign and leaps in sfatey technology the annual road toll in Victoria is mid 300’s.
To every single person who has worked onn this account over twenty years…you have nmad a real difference.
This is a well deserved win.
Perhaps Saatchi client ‘Chippendale Printers’ might think about moving there account….
Hey 11.22.
Nice that you are so positive.
Now learn to spell your own name.
