GM Holden turns to social gaming for all-new Barina campaign via McCann Melbourne
GM Holden and McCann Melbourne have tapped into the growing popularity of social gaming with the launch of the ‘Barina Beats’ Facebook game, to build awareness of the all-new Barina and the amazing features that come as standard.
‘Barina Beats’ is a fun take on the usual driving game and features audio from the Barina radio ad as an addictive backing track. It’s simple to play but tricky to master – and there’s a brand new Barina up for grabs for the person who gets the highest score by 29 February 2012.
Emma Pinwill, marketing manager at GM Holden, said: “Barina Beats provides a fun gaming experience for fans of Holden’s Small Cars. The game is designed to highlight the great features of the all-new Holden Barina and generate awareness.”
John Mescall, executive creative director at McCann Worldgroup, added: “It’s a fun highly addictive game with the awesome prize of a Holden Barina for the highest score. Personally, I’m just thankful that our staff aren’t eligible to enter, otherwise I would’ve lost them for a month.”

Awful.
Do people actually have time in the day to play games like this? I would like to know what the success rate of a facebook game is, as not many stats on it. Personally i think that it wouldn’t drive sales for a product like this but maybe I’m wrong, please feel free to enlighten me.
