GenerationOne spot stands out in ad clutter

Screen shot 2010-10-25 at 7.43.37 AM.pngThe launch commercial in the Andrew Forrest backed GenerationOne initiative to give indigenous Australians a real start in life aired last night in prime time on all major networks.

Anyone who was watching the ‘address to the nation’, with airtime donated by 7, 9, 10, ABC, SBS and Foxtel (thanks mainly to the influence of media buyer Harold Mitchell), had to agree the spot stood out amongst the clutter of commercial messages.

The message, created by Neil Lawrence and directed by Rachel Perkins (Bran Nue Dae) via Blackfella Films, was also supported digitally via YouTube, Yahoo7, ninemsn, Telstra and Google as well as full page ads in newspapers.

It would be interesting to see if any of Australia’s ad agencies and media buying shops take note and gave more indigenous Australians a job after seeing this.
