1 Crowd and cage.jpgFantastic Delites via Clemenger BBDO Adleaide, have released the next phase of its extremely successful Delite-o-matic campaign with a Youtube clip that shows just how far people will go for Fantastic Delites new Vintage Cheddar and Red Onion flavoured snacks.

For the video, members of the public were asked to dress in mouse costumes and spin a giant mouse wheel inside a cage. Only when they’d built up sufficient speed would the Delite-o-matic snack machine release a pack of cheese flavoured Fantastic Delites as a reward.

2 Wheel Cam.jpgThe stunt took place in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall in December and resulted in numerous thrills and spills as participants made a desperate effort to score a free pack.

The previous Delite-o-matic video, which showed people pushing a button up to 5000 times for their free pack, 3 Fall.jpgachieved viral status and generated millions of dollars of earned media. To date the video has clocked over 2.5 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most successful Australian viral videos of 2012.

Says Karl Fleet, executive creative director, Clemenger BBDO Adelaide: “At 4 Free Pack.jpgthe conclusion of the first video we made a promise that we would return and find out if we could push people to even further extremes. As a result, we really wanted to push the boundaries and create an experience that is both extremely fun and challenging.”

Michael Neale, chief marketing officer of Fantastic Snacks, says the videos have been a highly effective way to raise awareness of the brand and drive consumer trial.

Says Neale: “The Delite-o-matic has been a great campaign for us to dramatize our product’s key benefit, which is all about great taste. Having people do almost anything to get their hands on your product is something every marketing person dreams of.”
