Fairfax Media enhances automotive video content offering with new online video player DriveTV

Fairfax Media has today announced the launch of DriveTV, a new dedicated online video player for all automotive video content featuring the latest in car news, reviews and features.
Fairfax Media has partnered with major sponsor Hyundai for twelve months to bring a dedicated bespoke channel to its target audience. By combining the automotive expertise of Hyundai and the strong online presence of Drive.com.au, DriveTV delivers unique video content for all auto enthusiasts as well as the best tips and advice for those looking to purchase a car.
DriveTV will feature in a permanent position across Fairfax Media’s websites on smh.com.au, theage.com.au, brisbanetimes.com.au and watoday.com.au.
“With Domain TV proving incredibly popular, we know that our audiences want more video content on our sites. DriveTV is an obvious next step and we’re pleased that Hyundai are taking up the opportunity to be part of something that enhances user experience in this unique environment.” said Ed Harrison, commercial director, Metro Media Division.
Alex Pinsuti, senior manager marketing communications, Hyundai Motor Company Australia, says the partnership allows for different avenues for advertisers to engage with consumers.
Says Pinsuit: “DriveTV is an opportunity that allows Hyundai to connect with car buyers and enthusiasts by providing a rich audio visual experience that goes beyond traditional text based editorial.”
As its own stand-alone video player, DriveTV will give consumers access to a growing video archive library of over 5,000 pieces of content while producing three to four new videos each week. With enhanced search functionality, users can easily search for car news or reviews based on most recent or most viewed results.
