Exit director Stefan Hunt creates art fundraiser to help people who lost everything in NSW floods

Exit director, Stefan Hunt and his wife, Vanessa Marian, lost their home in the northern NSW floods two weeks ago. More than 2000 homes and businesses in the state’s Northern Rivers region that have been declared unliveable.

In the worst affected areas, two out of three homes will have to be demolished, rebuilt or substantially repaired, before they can be inhabited again. For large parts of northern NSW, this was the second major flood in the last five years. Recovery is expected to take not months but years.

Stefan and Vanessa have launched a fundraiser but are not asking for anything for themselves. They’re asking for the people who helped them to get back on their feet. A community of people who pulled together and gave all they could, in some cases more.

Says Stefan and Vanessa: “As you may know, Vanessa and I lost so much in the Northern NSW floods, but thanks to support from the community we’ve been able to get back on our feet.

“It’s given us the inspiration and energy to pay the good fortune forward.

Since launching the fundraiser yesterday they have raised $15,000 for the Flood Relief Fund.
