Euro RSCG Sydney hires former account director Pamela Nelson as talent champion
Euro RSCG Sydney has appointed Pamela Nelson as the agency’s talent champion, with a mandate to seek out the creative, the clever and the good-fun people out there.
Nelson is no a stranger to the group. In 2005 she was hired by Anthony Gregorio, when he was at The Moult Agency, to be account director on Hutchison 3 and Nikon. She left to have her first child then returned to work with Gregorio again, at The Furnace.
Following three years and the birth of her second child Nelson was sought after to fill the job as talent champion.
Upon being hired by Euro, the new recruits’ contracts come with a $10 brief, asking them to buy the most imaginative thing they can with that small amount. When introduced to the agency at all staff meetings they have their chance to highlight what they bought and why. And, because it is quite tough to be “new” for five days in a row, Euro believes every new start should have a shortened first week. Therefore, they can join the agency on any day but a Monday.
Says Nelson: “Having a lot of account management experience does give me a good understanding of what an agency needs. Also, I really do believe that cleverness and creativity can come from anywhere (not just from typical recruitment channels). I like to think that my job is to source it, nurture it and keep it.”
