Euro RSCG Sydney’s annual $10,000 Team Member Recognition Award goes to Thao Tran
Julie Burke, managing director of Euro RSCG Sydney, today awarded a whopping $10,000 to one lucky team member Thao Tran, (pictured) in appreciation for a job well done.
Each month everyone in the agency is invited to nominate one of their co-workers for recognition.
The nominations are based on the agency’s values of collaboration, creating fun, being fiercely loyal to ideas and embracing the unexpected. One winner for the month is selected and they win an immediate prize of $500. Each monthly winner is then placed in a year-end draw for the big prize of $10K.
Says Burke: “Being recognised by your peers is a powerful source of team building. We’ve simply built a structure around this and then created a financial incentive.
The draw is random, but we have introduced some theatre with a Wheel of Fortune that we customised with each winner’s name.”
The winner of the $10,000 was Thao Tran, a contractor at Euro. Thao originally joined The Furnace in 2009 and has since worked across Euro as well. She is part of the digital production team of twenty at Euro.
Says Tran: “I couldn’t believe it when I won! It is great to be part of a company who appreciate and reward their team. I really look forward to spending my prize on a holiday in Europe next year – thank you very much Euro RSCG.”

is there where the salary went for those who got the chop recently?
Tran-tastic news.
Paid for by clients……in an effort to attract staff……to the detriment of ROI. Thanks Euro!
@clientside – it’s because of clients like you that agencies need to do stuff like this.
Your ROI will be out of this world if you start backing ideas that are different and fun. Not that researched shit that keeps you in chocolate bars and roger david suits.
@ Clientside
So would you rather have an agency that couldn’t attract staff work on your business then?
@ client side
So you don’t want the best staff on your business then?
Might feel intimidated?
And how much do you think your team ‘retreats’ to the blue mountains or werribee park cost each year to try and keep you focused on objectives before they retrench your sorry arse in the next round of resturcturing?
Woohoo – could get lots of dry-cleaning for that Thao!
More agencies should do this.
Good on Euro – agency staff pretty much across the board, work longer hours for less money these days – clients are much better paid than agency staff – so incentives of this sort are good. Good initiative. More agencies should be looking at ways to better incentivise and reward staff.
