Engine hires two more industry heavyweights

Scotty Wilcox.jpgMax McMullin.jpg Continuing its expansion and big-hit recruitment drive, Engine today gave details of two new industry heavyweights that have joined the company.

Engine EP Adam Wells said, “We are very excited to have Max McMullin (right) join us as Head of 3D and Scotty Wilcox (left) as our leading animation director. Both Max and Scotty are well known and respected for their work in the industry and we are delighted to have them both on board.”

McMullin’s most recent role was as at top design shop Resolution, asHead of 3D.  Prior to Resolution, McMullin boasts sharing aLondon-based animation studio with renowned graphic novel illustratorDave McKean, working with some of the industry’s top directors and posthouses including Nexus Productions, TSI and Goodby Silverstein,working for Animal Logic as a senior 3D animator on the Jim HensonSci-Fi series Farscape and working on the Jim Henson and Sony PicturesFilm MirrorMask as CG Producer and Lead Supervisor amongst hisexperience and list of credits.

Says McMullin: “Engine is producing some amazing creative with a greatteam and has lots of different ideas for the future. I’m very muchlooking forward to working here.”

Engine’s second major hire is multi-award winning Scotty Wilcox whojoins the company as an Animation Director. With over 25 yearsexperience in animation and post, most recently Head of 3D at FSM,Wilcox has had a long and varied career in the industry working on someof Australia’s biggest accounts including Pfizer, Coca-Cola, Holden,Telstra, Optus and Qantas. Wilcox has also won a Silver Lion Award atCannes, Bronze World Medal in New York and an ATV & AWARD Award inAustralia. Prior to FSM Wilcox also held senior positions at Omnicon,Animal Logic, APV Malaysia, Omnilab, Fire Horse Studio and Safety InNumbers.

Says Wilcox: “I was impressed by the complete end-to-end range ofservices they offer at Engine and how they are changing the game bydoing so much in-house. It’s an exciting time to join them.”
