Energy Australia shows it has the power to move in new swim-themed spot via Leo Burnett Sydney
Energy Australia, one of Australia’s leading integrated electricity and gas companies, has signed on as the principal sponsor of Swimming Australia Limited and the Australian Swim Team for the next five years.
In the first creative celebrating the partnership, Energy Australia has put its support behind Australia’s swimmers in the 2012 EnergyAustralia Swimming Championships with a TVC via Leo Burnett, Sydney featuring swimmer Andrew Abood (who is not yet a squad member, he has to qualify to become a member of the squad).
The idea was born out of the fact that Energy Australia provides the power to light and heat the pools as the most committed and determined of swimmers get up at dawn to train.
Says Andy DiLallo, Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett Sydney: “These swimmers have a focus most people can’t fathom. By showing that we are, quite literally, right there beside them through every stroke and every lap, as they strive to reach their dreams in the early hours, it demonstrates that we understand that great things can be achieved through the power of energy.”
The campaign consists of TV and print.

Sorry, but I’m just not feeling it.
What with all your diving spots boys?
I like it, but I much prefer the Camry Atara diver – he was gorgeous!!
“These swimmers have a focus most people can’t fathom.”
Mate, I hope that comment was by design, whether intentional or subconsciously, because it made me groan in a good way.
Yet another trying-to-be-poetic voiceover with pretty pictures. The biggest cliche of the last 3 years.
Though Brad was a Group Head?
Iggy and Justin Group Heads. LMFAO!
It’s our energy that helps these people fulfill their dreams. WTF
it’s not unique to swimmers, I have to wake up at 5am sometimes and need a kettle for coffee and a light switch so I dont piss on the toilet seat.
Nah this is bad work for Leo’s
C’mon Leo’s. Don’t slip away!
this stands as must chance of winning as Ian Thorpe.
Soo much better than that AFL spot… Good stuff boys!
Well done not many agencies have the talent to direct a spot of this caliber in house. Hat off, it looks like something with a real budget not bad for 30k!!
I’m the kind of adwanker who writes ‘hats off’ on the blog
They may provide the energy but we pay the bill.
Another big waste of our money
It’s a mystery how it works, where it comes from, where it goes. It can appear in an instant and vanish in a flipper. It helps to make hopes and dreams become real. It makes those tiny hairs on your arms stand on end. And yet, it has the power to move millions.
It’s amazing what Viagra can do.
