Digital agency DTDigital’s new NAB Facebook app ticks all the right ‘Birthday Bucket Lists’
From planting a vegetable garden to flying off on an around- the-world holiday, Australians are creating and sharing their ‘Birthday Bucket Lists’. It’s all part of a new Facebook app and competition created for NAB by digital agency DTDigital (part of STW Group) and Facebook app technology specialist Tiger Pistol.
A Birthday Bucket List is a list of goals you want to achieve before an upcoming milestone birthday. The app gives you a way to think about the big things you want to achieve and introduces you to planning tools to help you get started. In short, it brings the topics of saving and investing to social media in an easy and engaging way.
The Birthday Bucket List app has caught on fast, with more than 2500 entries three weeks into the six-week competition. Each week, the five most creative Birthday Bucket Lists win a cash prize.
Says DTDigital’s Managing Director Brian Vella: “We think this app builds on the best aspects of social media marketing. It’s entertaining, very relevant to the NAB brand and it gets people thinking about and sharing their financial goals.”
Adds NAB’s Social Media Marketing Manager Kate Thompson: “We wanted to tap into what motivates people to invest and save in a fun way. It’s been great to see so many people enjoying it and sharing it with friends.”
The Birthday Bucket List competition ends Monday 3 December 2012. To enter the competition, visit facebook.com/NAB. NAB is planning a second phase of the competition to start in early 2013.

Wouldn’t a Bucket List idea be more suited to KFC?
..Better get me a bucket…Bleuuuughhh.
Stuff like this confirms my worst suspicions about social media agencies/social gurus/social marketing managers etc. etc.
What would I rather do with my spare time….waste it on NAB’s dull as f*ck bucket list app thingy, or entertain myself watching ‘Dumb ways to die’?
6.8 million people cant be wrong DTDigital. Try starting with an idea, not a technology.
Hire DTDigital to grow your business.
Dont they have bank of melbourne?
Terrible insight…A bucket list to share my finical goals. Seriously?
I’m the target market and the last thing I would think about is doing this Facebook app. Why not offer me a chance to make my dream come true. I want to own a business but dont have any ideas on how to run it, set goals or make money. I need these people around me to tell me and help me on how i can better help myself.
2500 entries is very low, especially after a digital marketing spend to push people to the app.
FB app technology specialists? The web is full of smoke and mirrors. Just another startup, led by a couple of tycoons, elbowing their way into the world of advertising and jumping on the social media bandwagon; hiring a team of young, inexperienced in the big scheme of things, wannabes who think FB is the be all and end all. The truth will set you free TP…
Facebook is free because its users are the product. They sell your data — photos, messages, likes — to advertisers. Facebook’s customers — advertisers and shareholders — are their number 1 priority.
Ed Zachery!
And now because the sheep unwittingly give away their personal lives for FB to profit from, FB are now building an artificial intelligence system based upon their data.
I’m sure Alan Turing didn’t forsee AI in this manner. Funny thing is, it’s up to us to shape our own world and we keep going blindy done the wrong track…
