Destination Phillip Island appoints Hardhat as new creative agency to lead tourism push

Destination Phillip Island has appointed independent agency Hardhat to lead its biggest marketing initiative to date, following a competitive pitch process.

Hardhat will work with Destination Phillip Island’s marketing team to inspire local and interstate tourism back into the region, offsetting the sizable impact of 2020’s extended lockdown and continued freeze in international tourism.

Says Dan Monheit, co-founder and strategy director, Hardhat: “From the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix to the much-loved Penguin Parade, Phillip Island is already a well known destination for Victorians. However, Phillip Island has so much more to offer. Through this campaign we will surface and celebrate the island’s diverse offering at a time where domestic tourism is surging.”

Says Kim Storey, general manager at Destination Phillip Island: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with an agency that shares the same understanding and love for the Phillip Island region. We’re looking forward to what’s to come in this next phase alongside Hardhat.”

Destination Phillip Island is responsible for ensuring the long-term viability and sustainability of this region. Phillip Island is one of the top tourist destinations in Victoria, famous for its incredible wildlife and stunning Australian landscapes.

Destination Phillip Island joins Hardhat’s client list that includes Superhero, Victoria University, Simply Energy and Afterpay.
