Curious premieres ‘Winter’s Bone’ at Sydney Film Festival tomorrow night

Sundance-winning Winter’s Bone premieres at Sydney Film Festival tomorrow night. The award winning film is the third film acquisition by Curious Film, across Australia and New Zealand.

Directed by Debra Granik and based on the acclaimed novel by ‘southern gothic noir’ novelist Daniel Woodrell, Winter’s Bone features a remarkable performance by Jennifer Lawrence in the leading role of a 16 year-old girl searching for her ice-dealing father in the Ozark mountain community of white-trash America.

Winter’s Bone has been hailed by critics since its US release inJanuary, winning the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and the Waldo SaltScreenwriting Award, plus two major awards at the Berlin InternationalFilm Festival.
