Curious Film combines with brands to launch bespoke co-branded ‘pop-up cinema’ screenings
Curious is tapping into its distribution catalogue of films and documentaries to host bespoke, co-branded pop-up cinema events in partnership with brands, media companies and agencies.
Last week, fashion retailer Incu partnered with Curious to host a rooftop screening of an award-winning documentary distributed exclusively in Australia/NZ by Curious.
The screening took place on Tuesday 20th March on top of the iconic Paramount Building in Surry Hills and rewarded Incu’s top customers with an intimate film event.
Says Peter Grasse, executive producer at Curious in Sydney: “Curious owns the distribution rights to an eclectic mix of indie films and is bringing content to audiences in unexpected ways. Partnering with brands and agencies to host pop-up cinema events seemed like a brilliant way of bringing our passion for film and branding together.
We are now coordinating our second pop-up cinema event for April 12th. This time we’re partnering with another clever brand to craft a venue for the screening of a cult classic. I won’t disclose the location yet. However, I can say there’ll be more booze poured to rockabilly and cinema than the entire industry could drink in a week.”
Curious’ film catalogue includes films WINTER’S BONE, NORWEGIAN WOOD, TOOMELAH and RED STATE, and documentaries, BLACK POWER MIX TAPE (1967-75) and JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI.
Curious’ next pop-up cinema event takes place on 12th April, with a third event planned for May. For ticket enquiries and more branded cinema opportunities contact peterg@curiousfilm.com
