Held at the No-Vacancy gallery in Melbourne, two young Melbournecreative teams took to the stage to present the results of several latenight working sessions to an expectant crowd of their peers. Up againstCubed in this winner take all slam down were Melanie Stevens and LeePhillips from Mark.

Cubed concept.JPGStevens and Phillips won the toss andpresented first. Their fun street art based campaign received a rousingcheer from the crowd. And as far as the team from Cubed were concerned,Mark were a hard act to follow.

But follow they did, with anoutstanding campaign that brought together Bud Naked Wine (the brandthey were tasked with promoting) and the Parklife Festival, under thevery clever tagline of “Bring something new to the party”.

Guestadjudicator, and host for the night, Stanley Johnson, CD at Wunderman, was seriously impressed by the work of both teams. “Our industry’s ingood hands,” said Johnson. “I’d say these four talented young people havejust put themselves on the radar of pretty much every CD in town.”

Thewinning team on the night was chosen by audience vote and, according to Johnson: “The team from Cubed showed a terrific understanding of whatmakes a big idea, but just as importantly, how to put together athoroughly modern direct marketing campaign.”

The [young]ADMAVIC Creative Slam Down was designed to give two young creative teamsthe chance to show off their talents in front of industry peers (and acouple of stalwarts). It was the first event for Victoria’s newestindustry group, who came together earlier in 2010 as an offshoot ofADMA Victoria, with the aim of turning on the younger end of theindustry to the most inspiring events, people and trends in directmarketing.
