Following in the footsteps of Jay Furby, Melbourne-based copywriters Jol Temple and Kate Burt (pictured) have sold their first children’s book to publisher Allen & Unwin.
Illustrated by art director Jon Foye, the book will be produced in both hard cover and e-book. It’s set to be launched in 2011 – more details later.

Nice job guy! Creatives talk about this but rarely do it.
Congrats! Talented bastards.
Vic
Awesome! I’d buy a copy.
Is that the cover?
Well done Kate and Jol. Both great talents. Not surprised.
Title? Link to the book? Link to their website?
Oh please – is this really news?
Two ad hacks attempt the great leap from advertising obscurity and write a kids book?
Yawn.
Probably bashed it out during office hours too.
Well done guys, why waste great talent just on advertising.
Great stuff.
10:09 you’re a twat. Yawn.
Congrats kids for getting out there and doing it.
That’s cool. Jon’s a great illustrator.
Good to see creatives actually being creative.
If football players can do it creatives have no excuses.
10.09, yeah twat, best spend your time on the blog.
10:09 probably bashed out that shithouse comment during office hours too.
Brilliant news guys. Looking forward to seeing it. Jons a great illustrator.
10:25, 11:44, 12:18:
Are there book deals on the horizon for you too?
Better move fast.
I read somewhere they’re working on a computer program that can do creative work.
Looks like your days are numbered
1.46 shouldn’t you be on those channel planning blogs?
Well done guys. Jol, can I call you Treebeard?
10.09, you are a total cock.
Getting a kids’ book published is extremely difficult and worthy of huge praise. Contrary to what most people think, it’s a lot tougher than getting an ad campaign through. I know because I’ve done both myself (which is also why I’ll choose to stay anonymous here). Well done guys – hope you got a good deal from your publisher…!
If JAY FURBY HAS WRITTEN A BOOK, HOW COME I CAN’T FINE A THING – NOT A THING ABOUT IT ON THE NET????
Congrats guys.
Is there a prize for mentioning Jay in every story that has nothing to do with him?
who’s jay furfy? was he the first guy to write a children’s book or something.
Well done Kate and Joel.

These people are trying to entertain children and you’re acting like a total asshole. You’re an asshole.
Is Furby’s book based on the true story of the cooked chicken in the bed?
Grow a beard or shut the fuck up you monkey arse gronks. Fark me! Congrats guys. I love you. But seriously, I do.
Hey 4:14, maybe you’re not having any luck with that search because you’re typing in ‘FINE’ Furby rather than ‘FIND’.
seems like there are a few talented writers floating around. I work for a toy company that is in need of copywriters for girls products.
we are based In Melbourne.
Please email me if you feel you have the talent to do some work on doll profiles and short story lines.
