Picture 708.pngFairfax Digital has launched an enhanced mobile service to allow more intuitive access to news sites, such as theage.com.au and smh.com.au, when accessed through mobile or smartphone devices. The updated design will mean an enhanced experience for users, as well as a good opportunity for advertisers with Fairfax Digital, following the recent realignment of its advertising systems across online and mobile and strong advertiser interest around mobility.

As well as additional content and formats, the remotely accessed siteswill soon contain rich content including video and multimedia, meaningthe sites accessed on mobiles will be as comprehensive as those you seeon a desktop computer. The sites are accessible using the usual siteURL address, but are automatically redirected to the mobile portal whenit determines the nature of device being used to access the site.

Today’s launch will help give these usersa more streamlined and up-to-date experience that is consistent withour brands across our key range of mastheads.”

“This is justthe beginning of a series of exciting mobile initiatives that FairfaxDigital will be rolling out in the near future, and comes off the backof 100% plus growth in page impressions across news m-sites over thepast year and we’re expecting similar growth this year.”
