Monster Children Films in conjunction with Corona Studios have launched Season 2 of ‘The Free Range Humans’ series to bring humanity closer to nature. They chose to bring along The Editors, along for the ride.

The six-part series of shorts edited by Laurence Van Camp, Phil Horn and Lily Davis, tells stories of brave environmentalists from around the world and their fight for our planet.

Created in partnership with US creative agency Pereira O’Dell, the series features footage shot on-location from around the globe – a particularly complex feat during 2021’s Covid restrictions with travel bans and lockdowns imposed worldwide. Shot around the world including the Atacama Desert in Chile, to the Great African Sea Forest and the Coral Gardens of Mo’orea under, the project collaborated with 5 different directors and over 200 local crew worldwide.

Says Jam Hassan, executive producer at Monster Children Films: “The craft and method from The Editors team was world-class. Collaborating with our post-production partners at the beginning of pre-pro allowed us to look big picture. When you consider different stories, directors, languages and global locations, the approach needs to be tailored for each episode.”

Says Liv Reddy, head of production at The Editors: “We had a lot of exciting challenges with this project, from juggling multiple languages and time zones to nurturing the various directors and agency creatives vision all whilst keeping the client’s brand tone of voice. This particular model of hybrid content gives editors and clients the opportunity to explore more in-depth story structures, while still ensuring products and brands remain at the epicentre of the content itself. This series represents a particular area of branded content which The Editors’ team hope to tackle more of in the future.”

The Free Range Humans Season 2 is now streaming on Corona’s YouTube channel. Those inspired by the stories can apply for Corona Free Range Fund, which will award grants to those wanting to take the leap and answer their unique call from nature. The Editors, in collaboration with Monster Children Films will be hosting a private screening of all films at The Dendy, Newtown on Tuesday June 7th, 2022.
