CommBank’s ‘Time Vault’ promotion aims to send hundreds of consumers into branches as they hunt for clues to win $2,000 cash prize
The second day of Commonwealth Bank’s Time Vault ‘treasure hunt’ style Facebook promotion will take an offline twist today as hundreds of people head into a Commonwealth Bank branch to locate the answer to a question published on Facebook.
Tasked with finding the name of Commonwealth Bank’s first account holder, consumers have until 11am AEDT tomorrow to correctly submit the answer and be in with a chance of winning $2,000.
Developed as part of the Bank’s extensive Centenary campaign, The Time Vault is housed within a tab on the Bank’s Facebook page.
Launched on November 21, 2011, every day for ten business days a question relating to a certain decade of Commonwealth Bank’s 100-year history will be asked.
Players will then be sent on a ‘treasure hunt’ style quest to collect information, clues or codes so they may answer each question correctly and unlock the secrets of Commonwealth Bank’s history.

Is the type of person who’ll go on a treasure hunt during business hours a high value acquisition target?
Isn’t it only dole bludgers and piss heads who have spare time to go into banks doing this shit, treasure hunt? would I add commbank to my fb? No.
Yes there are many people ‘hanging’ around Facebook during work hours – including me -a business owner. The challenge is what interests many and the chance to win even better. If you are running your business well, then you should have plenty of time to go into the bank!
I agree with ‘really?’. Who has the time or want to go into commonwealth bank to find out the answer. I spent 40 mins in the other day just to confirm cancellation of a credit card. I thought we had freedom of choice not people bugging us to keep paying exorbitant amounts of money for something we don’t want.
Guys, seriously?? What about people like myself who are shift workers?? I’m sure there are plenty of other people like myself out there who are actually highly valued Commonwealth Bank customers who do have a chance to get into the bank during business hours. I’m no dole bludger. I’m one of those that pay for them. But yet, here I am on the net during business hours. Go figure?
