The Commonwealth Bank, via agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, has released three 15 second tactical spots promoting speciific CommBank products.
Meet Fitchy. Hurried. Man in a rush. He enjoys the convenience of a Commonwealth Bank MasterCard with PayPass. One tap and presto.
It only takes an hour. A home loan completed by Commonwealth bankers. It’s a speedy event with over 100,000 signed and sealed.
Sarah will not be on email today. With the help of her Commonwealth Bank Savings Specialists, she is on holiday. And can only be reached by pineapple.

I really don’t like this voice over artists’ voice.
I second the above.
It just sounds smarmy.
totally agree with the comments about the voice.
I too, agree with the comments above.
Fitchy’s just as likely to tap you on the shoulder. With an axe.
Creepy.
If a bank completely bullshits to you, but does so in black and white, with a cinematic style once used by a proper French director, and uses Dennis Denuto as the voiceover… is it still bullshitting you?
Probably how Americans think we sound
I guess the truth in the Ad is the swarmy attitude the CBA rich bankers have towards the mortgage/saver Australian community – they wish they could be gouging a better class of person like themselves…
Better than anything the other banks are doing. Which is not be saying much.
This is a whole lot better that that awful crap american ad agency campaign. Still, I have to disagree with 10:49, I think that (in alphabetical order) ANZ, Bankwest, NAB & Suncorp are all creating far superior ads to CBA.
The voice over comes across as condescending. It makes me feel like CBA are a bunch of bankers trying to tell me that they know what is good for me, and what I should aspire to. In reality they have no idea of what I want and are not prepared to listen. Funny that, sounds just like a bank!
In the end, I think the public would respond much better to seeing a product that will give them real benefits (i.e. high interest savings account with no fees or a low rate for home loans) rather then buying into a banks that are trying to say “Trust us, we’ll treat you better than the other banks”. All I can say is, Prove it!
I thought someone had aired a pitch narrative by mistake.
