Clothing Please and Wildlings encourage Aussies to ‘Love Their Secondhand Clothes’ this V-Day
Get ready for a day filled with overpriced flowers, flustered partners, and a love hexagon or two. Valentine’s Day is here, offering the perfect opportunity for a little romance – and maybe even a bit of carefully considered clothing removal.
Says Mark Keay, CEO of Clothing Please: “We see Valentine’s Day as another chance to remind people not to discard their secondhand clothing. We’re always looking for new ways to support families in need and encourage more and more people to reduce their clothing waste.”
With a limited budget and just a few days’ notice, Wildlings took on the challenge of creating a 15- second TV spot to air during MAF’s (Married at First Sight) and a print ad to feature in multiple press locations including The West Australian’s Book of Love.
Says Matt Wilson, creative partner at Wildlings: “What can I say? When I saw this brief, my heart skipped a beat. My feelings are best summed up with a poem – Roses are red, violets are blue, and old clothes deserve our lovin’ too.”
Says Pat Lennox, creative partner at Wildlings: “Let’s all swipe left on clothing waste. Because we really want second-hand clothes to have the happy ending they deserve.”

I only throw out ripped clothes in situations like this. And even then, sometimes they’re kept…
Nice try but it doesn’t make sense. These people aren’t getting rid of their perfectly good bits of kit. They’re ripping them off to have a Valentine’s Day special before putting them back on again. And as for doing it front of your dog …ewww!
