The Clemenger Group has acquired Brisbane-based integrated communications agency Gallery De Pasquale (GDP), significantly expanding its foothold in the Brisbane market. GDP will merge with Clemenger BBDO Brisbane, with staff moving into Clemenger’s new premises in Brisbane’s Queen Street.
Clemenger’s existing management team of managing director Kurt Viertel, creative director Jim McKeown and finance dfirector Michael Nielsen will be strengthened by the addition of GDP’s Remy Brassac to the newly created role of client services director. “Brisbane’s strongest integrated offer”
Really? I don’t think so.
I can name at least 3 agencys that already have a strong through the line offering.
Seriously who rights this stuff.. Oh that’ll be Clems PR people.
Wow! Bit of a step down for Remy! How funny
wow, the merger has merged. good luck to all that survived.
Seriously who proofreads the stuff you “right”, 12:34 PM?
I sincerely hope you’re an art director …
Lets watch the fall out.
Hope this merger is handled better than the previous – training wheels off this time!
Congrats to the GDP Team 🙂
When will Clemeneger Group learn. Concept, Grantley Cogzell Benn and DDB were all acquisition disasters. Its always seen as a merger by the junior partner and an acquistion by the senior partner. Rarely do acquisitions / mergers ever work. Loss of clients and staff usually results.
Any relation to David ‘Nobby’ Nobay? The resemblance is striking.
Oh Phil get a hair cut!
Two amazing agencies united. Now they can challenge the Klingons for interstellar domination.
1:04pm You’re a jobsworth aren’t you! All you could think to say was a pathetic crack at someone’s misspelling of “agencies! What a sad little person you are! Now go away and pack up your toys….
hahahahaha i’m enjoying this.
This is going to be interesting with some of the personalities being reunited once more.

Exclamation mark! Another! Use ellipsis, sound poignant… And still make grammatical errors.
Mate don’t go on badgering an agency because of the PR they put out and then get hurt if someone picks on you. If you dish it out, you better learn to take it – especially if you write from the secure blanket of anonymity.
Wise up, grow up.
Clems really – don’t do this.
There’s about 40 ex-employees that can verify that!
Congrats to all, and a special congrats to Remy – he’ll do well in that role.
How many ex-CDs can you have in one creative department?
So how many redundancies were there?
can we please stop smoking weed – GDP is at best a fairly prdinary property agency and Clems couldn’t merge traffic…..
My new business list just got longer. Thank Clems.
Good to see someone is keeping a vigilant eye on the appalling decline in standards. Unfortunately, amongst under-30’s and art directors, grammar, punctuation and spelling simply don’t seem to matter. Txt and twitter aren’t helping. Example: the hilarious illiteracy in the tweets that now feature on the ABC’s excellent Monday night debate program ‘Q&A’.
And yes, 1:38PM, he’s Nobby’s brother.
it’s kinda sad to see the end of Gallery, what was once a really great agency. I know a lot will also say the same about seeing the end of De Pas. The original merger between the two companies wasn’t without it’s bumps, but there were good times too. For the peeps at GPD making the transition over, good luck and I hope it goes as well as you all hope.
used to be a property agency.. now they are just ordinary in general! (well they were)
Good luck Remy Brassac – you are going to need it!
Agreed 5:56 – what a cuture clash!
Perhaps a touch over complimentary to use the words ‘once, great and ‘agency’ as a description for gallery. No doubt Clem’s client service dept are in for kick up the proverbial with a person renowned for his Trojan-like work ethic now in charge of them.
Bet you’re stoked to be back in “The Firm” Larsy. Good luck mate.
End of an era…Gallery did rule the property advertising in it time but the question is who rules the property advertising now in Brisbane? Will the real property advertising agency please stand up!!!
fundamentally, the agency will be in a better space.
They’ve done a deal with nice Hylton. Wait until the second bad month in a row and there will be mad Hylton on the phone. Culture shock a-coming.
How long till Kurt cleans house? mmmmm
Lock in the clients – sack the expensive guys….
Plop, plop. Poo in the honey.
All’s fair in love, war and advertising. How about a zen style response if you have something nasty to say. Even the great and mighty fall if they behave badly. Lead by example, wish them luck, and concentrate on keeping your powder clean instead.
As for the merger, which was the topic, I hope it equips them to achieve what they want to. And the independents are still out there and blooming themselves. Offer difference, instead of opposition.
Are you kidding me.. Brisbane is a merry-go-round worse than other ad markets… quite seriously the smallest town on earth and now smaller again. At least they won’t need a ‘getting to know you’ party.
FYI, just moving offices and buying yet another agency won’t fix the F’up that is Clem’s Brisbane….
Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation Police – I was so much in agreement, until I read the second line and the bit about the “under-30’s”.
You know, plural versus the possessive?
Oops.
Douche vs Doucher
Here’s a link for the over 30s

Does anyone know what Clems paid?
$3b
laughter all round boys
Has Jay totally gone from GDP now? Or is he still around?
