Clemenger BBDO Adelaide woos Fantastic Noodle fans with spa chicken campaign
A new national campaign for Fantastic Chicken Flavoured Cup Noodles, via Clemenger BBDO Adelaide, has gone to air, aiming to reinforce Fantastic Cup Noodles as the best tasting cup noodles available.
The television commercial was produced in Adelaide by production company Anifex and features a guy dressed in a chicken suit, enjoying a spa bath.
“There is such a wide variety of cup noodle and instant noodle brands available in supermarkets these days,” said Geoff Robertson, co-creative director Clemenger BBDO Adelaide, “but we think Fantastic Chicken Flavoured Cup Noodles are still the best tasting option around. This brought us to the idea that some things are simply perfect the way they are and are hard to be improved.”
“We have produced a number of great campaigns with Clemenger BBDO Adelaide over the past few years,” said Michael Neale, head of sales and marketing Fantastic Snacks, “and considering our target market it was no surprise the creative idea for this campaign was once again a bit different from other advertisements in the marketplace.”
The campaign will run for one month and will be supported by online and Facebook activity.

Yawn.
Struggling to find the big idea here I’m afraid. Do’nt get the idea of using the noodle as a towel while he’s still in the spa.
2 0uta 10 for me.
@8:37
You need to let your hair down once in a while. Tonally, it might be in a similar space to Old Spice, but hey this is a nice little spot.
As for the ‘big idea’: they converted the boiling cup of noodles (a.k.a “the product”) into a bubbling hot tub containing a giant Barry White-cum-Isaac Hayes porno chicken. What’s not fun about that?
Does it really matter whether the noodle is interpreted as a towel, an exfoliator, or even a big long disco scarf that feel in and got wet when he was fooling around earlier with some big-assed Puerto Rican girls?
If Clems in Melbourne had done this, you’d be full of praise.
@9:53
What you said. This ad’s funny. What’s not to like?
chicken having spa in big noodle pot – HAHAHAHAHA
you’re right not from adelaide. people judge commercials based on where they come from rather than if they’re shit or not.
oh no hang on… this is just a shit ad with bad execution. although it would be hard to execute something like this and have it not look like shit.
What’s not to like??? a feathery filthy chicken in my noodles.
Funny!
Feels watered down…..
I am going to get my noodles all over your ass.
my kids love the product and the ad. well done.
@8:37…. you is a tired w****r.
what’s not to like is that it’s a rip from Burger King NZ campaign… “If you love chicken and if you LOOOOVE bacon… etc etc. The dank smell of shenanigans (I didn’t actually say plagiarism).
Love it
Ok could be better with a bigger budget. But its says real chicken and the kids will love it. So what’s wrong with that?
Pity it’s been done before. And funnier.
Fresh creative.
Ballsy client.
8/10.
Funny, and not over done. A great ad. Congrats to the creatives.
it’s an ad for NOODLES people it doesn’t need to save the world – it’s advertsing why is everyone so serious in the industry these days – stop overthinking everything and just enjoy it for what it is – light hearted and FUNNY!!
Looks like it was fun to work on but it’s not funny. At best it’s light hearted and nicely made, for the budget. Memo to all staff, please visit the Facebook page today.
8/10… well, for Adelaide.
It’s got everything going for it except your strategy planner went out to lunch.
There has to be something new to say than just chicken noodles in a cup.
In the end no matter how you look at it this is a superb little tvc…. regardless of how much the budget or where it was done.
10/10 for the creatives. 0/10 for the planner.
great add. well done to the chicken
loved it, that chicken is my favourite
Thinking it is bit of different compared with the regular ads we see and are tired of.
Quite a daring creative…
Especially love the sexy voice
As someone who didn’t work on the spot…… I think 6/10 would have been a more believable score. Also, I wouldn’t describe the creative is “daring.” I can recommend you review virtually any of the Pot Noodle ads for the past 10 years as reference. There’s still a quite a bit of catching up to do, unfortunately.
great add, light and funny. it is only a snack food after all.
congratulations to the chicken
fantastic! my two young children love it . the chicken is really cute. well done
ur all gay
