Clemenger BBDO Melbourne takes out AdNews Agency of the Year; Clems Sydney wins NSW title

A day after being awarded the CB Agency of the Year title for a record fourth year running, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne was last night named AdNews Agency of the Year, as well as winning Ad Campaign of the Year and the inaugural Game Changer Award for the NAB ‘Break Up’ campaign.
Clems Melbourne was also awarded Victorian Agency of the Year while sister shop Clemenger BBDO Sydney took out the NSW Agency of the Year title, resulting in Clemenger BBDO being awarded Network of the Year. MORE HERE

Clems Melb is a great agency. They are committed to being the best and have the talent to deliver on it. They are deserved winners.

I think Adnews may have over compensated for the Patts decision last year. Ok Melb but Sydney. There are so many agencies better. D5, Monkeys, Host, BMF, Leo Burnett to name just a few.

Where’s the work? Virgin relaunch campaign is nice, yep. Tick. Hungry jacks bunnies is okay but it’s not even close to the standard of Crispin’s stuff 5 years ago. And aside from that? Hmmm. So two pieces of work.
-DDB did a couple of exceptional VW ads.
-Leo Burnett’s work on Diageo was way classier.
-Mojo (when Micah was running it) pulled out super dry, that man ad for speights in NZ, coke burn and even ‘Ian’s getting ready’.
That’s just off the top of my head. As for best submission wins? Can we please have some judges that can’t be talked into believing work that is average is actually incredibly good.

I wonder if AdNews realise that this will only diminish thier own awards cred. Clems Melb deserve the win. Clems Syd doesnt.
