Chris Hanrahan + Jordy Molloy in Cannes: Day 3

Le Fellas.jpgChris Hanrahan and Jordy Molloy, a young creative team from DDB Melbourne, are competing in the Film category of the Cannes Young Lions competition. They write exclusively for CB.

Well it’s now Day Trois of the Cannes Festival and the nauseating feeling left over from the reheated barramundi on Qantas Flight Q19 has now been replaced with the nauseating feeling of knowing we get our brief today.

Le Juice.jpgLe Pharrell.jpgWe have to concept, film and submit a 60sec commercial in 48 hours time.

Holy merde.

In preparation, Jordy and I have been basting ourselves in creative juices over the past day and a half. Here’s a small snap shot of said le juice.

Pharrell Williams

Ryan Seacrest interviewed him on the importance of a live performance and choosing who the right people are to collaborate with. He also gave a fantastic quote, which we’ve lazily reprinted here to save writing more about him. “There must be a tactile, kinaesthetic value to [your music]. You have to make sure that you write intention into it.”

Key Take Out: We hope we look that good when we’re 42.

Some people wouldn’t lower themselves to peeking around a column to take a photo of a B-List celebrity. We are not those people.

Key Take Out: Need to invest in a zoom lens.

The Most Convoluted Juice Experience Ever

I had to smile into a camera for 45 seconds to get 100mls of watery, tasteless blue liquid.

Key Take Out: You feel really stupid smiling into a camera for 45 seconds.

Orgasmic Steak at Hotel Du Cap

The only thing better than this steak was eating it while sitting in the same general vicinity as Boy George.

Key Take Out: We need to get rich and have lunch everyday at this hotel.
