Channel T lures DDB Sydney creative partner David Joubert to creative director role
Channel T has boosted its creative credentials with the hire of senior award-winning creative director, David Joubert, previously creative partner at DDB Sydney.
Joubert brings to Channel T proven creative expertise that spans multiple categories such as FMCG, automotive, retail and QSR achieved during his time working in Australia, Asia and South Africa. Most recently at DDB, David’s significant contribution to elevating McDonald’s brand and retail efforts has been recognised with numerous creative and effectiveness awards including Gold at the Effies.
The appointment follows some recent high profile creative moves from multinationals to independent agencies, as clients increasingly recognise the benefits of working with an agency that is unencumbered by traditional structures and global challenges, opening up a more collaborative approach to creativity.
Says Peter Cerny, executive creative director, Channel T: “There are few creatives in the industry that rival David’s body of work, recognition and experience. But equally as important for us at Channel T, David has a genuine and sincere nature – he’s our kind of person. We’re thrilled to have him join the team.”
Says Joubert: “Life has a funny way of opening doors for you, especially when you least expect it. From the first day I started talking to Pete, Lisa and the team, I knew I wasn’t joining just another ad agency. Everything about this feels right and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Channel T has offices in Sydney and Melbourne, working with a range of leading brands including 3M, Australian Liquor Marketers, IGA Supermarkets, Snap Printing, Dulux, Mondelez, Ego Pharmaceuticals and a range of Government clients.

Congratulations all the best Dave!
Couldn’t have made a better hire Channel T. Dave is a brilliant, strategic creative who sees no limits. Well done all.
Very solid innings at DDB and this looks like a great new chapter for you mate. All the very best.
Congrats, Dave!
Congrats Dave!
I think channel T is about the worst creative agency in town based on their output
Hiring a first rate creative like this is an exceptionally good move I wish them all well
But you’re a partner at DDB. Do you get your equity paid out when you exit?
Channel T and 72 and Sunny putting out the lowest standard work seen in years.
Onya Dave
Well done mate. Applause to the echo. Onward.
Will go far.
He’s a stand up, type of guy, integrity, empathy and the type of leadership qualities that we all respect and admire. He will go far and make many friends along the way.
Stop checking back on this post for new comments.
Congrats man!
Top guy and a great talent – fantastic hire.
And good work going with the classic folded arm pose there, Dave. Always a tough shoot to direct.
That’s actually a more technical approach to the classic arm fold, there’s clearly a chest/breast cup for extra detail, perhaps accompanied by a subtle flex for reassurance.
Excellent hire.
Excellent creative.
Excellent human.
Put your Xmas tree up yet Dave?
