BWM Melbourne managing director Hugh Nairn departs to join Ted Horton’s Big Red agency
Following Thursday’s news of Shaun Branagan getting the creative director role at Belgiovane Williams Mackay Melbourne, the agency announced that managing director Hugh Nairn will depart to join Ted Horton’s agency Big Red.
Nairn joined BWM Melbourne in June 2009. His previous roles have included MD of Belong, Director at Clemenger BBDO and business head at AC Nielsen, Southern Africa and Asia Pacific. He was also a former general manager at DDB/Rapp Collins. He has 20 years experience in FMCG, Financial Services, pharmacy, liquor, travel and Government services.
“We wish Hugh all the best for the future. He’s done a great job for us in Melbourne,” BWM Group CEO Paul Williams said.
“The appointment of Shaun, especially with his digital credentials, takes BWM to a whole new level, with new creative talent and the fantastic work we’ve been producing for clients such as Kmart, Iron Jay and Bird’s Eye. We’re really excited about the potential for Melbourne.”
BWM executive planning director Jamie Mackay will oversee the Melbourne agency until a replacement is found.

Well fill my boots……..that will either Be heaven or hell….
Big Red seems to be the only Agency doing it right. An enviable client list with none of the usual ‘faffing’. Well done Hugh.
Yeah, if you think “down down prices are down” is doing it right!
Nice 8.41pm . . . huge stretch from OK Kmart . . .
Good move, Hugh. Say ‘Hi’ to Ted for me.
Welcome to the 80’s
Would be great if their PR shots were as in focus as their work.
