Boards trade magazine ceases publication
Canadian based TVC production trade magazine Boards has ceased publication (including its website) after 10 years in business, eight months after US based Creativity also pulled the pin on its print edition.
Boards has sent an email to all subscribers explaining the decision:
Dear readers,
It is with sadness that we inform you that Boardsmagazine has ceased publishing immediately. Established in 1999, Boardsrapidly evolved into one of the world’s most respected media brandsserving the international advertising and commercial productioncommunity. Over the years we’ve built a legacy of cutting-edgejournalism that helped to unite a disparate market with unflinchingperspective and insight.
Each month we took the pulse of theindustry and pointed the way towards new opportunities for ourentrepreneurial readership. There wasn’t a single moment that we didn’tconsider how our efforts might contribute to a better industry for all.Through that lens, we hope we made a difference.
Major long-termtrends over the past several years have forced our clients tore-evaluate their business models and the recent global economicturmoil has simply accelerated that need. This process will take manyyears to unfold but, ultimately, this business will thrive once againin a new form by harnessing the sheer creative force from which it wasborn.
It has been a pleasure to serve you all of these years. Wethank you for your undying support, all of the good times we’ve sharedand, most of all, wish you much success as you tackle this brave newworld.
