BMF and SOLO officially launch Unofficial Sports
Ever thrown your coffee cup in the bin and had a silent cheer when you get it in? Or raced someone to the bus stop, just for the glory of getting there first? Or kicked a can? Or made up a game with your mates, and played it with the intensity of an Olympic athlete?
Then according to BMF and SOLO, youʼve been playing one of millions of Unofficial Sports.
For years, SOLO has been vanquishing the thirst of everyday sportspeople. So now itʼs time to properly recognise its role as ʻThe Official Thirstcrusher of Unofficial Sportsʼ.
SOLO has launched a new website, The Official Homepage of Unofficial Sports, built by BMF, to collate and celebrate the moments of competition that have had no recognition, no medal ceremonies, no formal leagues or logos, and of course, no paychecks.
Until now.
Starting today, you can upload your Unofficial Sport for a chance to win $10,000.
The Unofficial Sports competition will be promoted on Nova, and supported with 30-second radio ads and live reads from FItzy and Wippa and closes on 27 April.
Unofficial Sports are everywhere. So, what are you playing?
Agency: BMF
Media: Carat

Anonymous 1: “Only if you swallow”
Well said 8.46.
A 90’s concept. BMF have lost their way.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad that the competition is continuously on the “let’s slag off BMF and Saatchi’s as much as can” bandwagon. Give it up, they’re good agencies, they’ll always be good agencies and so what if they have a year or two of dodginess. Don’t we all.
