Leo Burnett, US and Reborn win first round of inter-agency Ping-Pong By Noise competition
Heat one of Ping-Pong By Noise produced the first set of finalists for the inaugural competition to find ‘Advertising’s Ping-Pong Champions’.
Just three of the 12 agencies that battled it out over the 4-hour tournament at Noise International HQ in Glebe last night made it through to the finals on 2 June. The agencies that made the cut and are in with a chance to win the coveted title are Leo Burnett, US Sydney and Reborn.

The second round of heats take place next week on Thursday 26 May, with a further 12 agencies fighting it out for valuable finals spots. The prizes are hefty, including $1,500 for first place, $600 for second and $300 for third, plus a stack of extra Noise-related items and spot prizes for best-dressed and best celebration on the night.
M&C Saatchi/Mark produced the campaign for the event, that included a uniquely intregrated ‘digital DM’ piece, including a specially designed iApp by Doobalah, and supported by a viral video directed by Dean Tirkot starring two of Australia’s table tennis legends.
As one of the finalists so far, Nigel Clark of US Sydney said: “Most creatives spend half their careers on a pong table so the competition was fierce. But luckily Marc and Carlos dug deep, played a game of two halves, gave it 110%, took it one game at a time and other clichés too numerous to mention. Overall, ping pong was the winner on the day…but mostly we were. “
