Bennetts and Speakman join Plaza

Talented young director Sam Bennetts and producer Edwina Speakman have teamed up at Plaza.  

Bennetts’ recent work for Ebay, Riva & RTA  have made him one the most talked about emerging directors. Speakman arrives from 8com where she has been long respected as one of the best in the business, working with top creatives and clients all over the world.

“Sam’s just brilliant and we clicked straightaway” says Speakman: “He’s got that magic combination of having a great eye and genuine narrative skill. He’s also got so much passion for everything he does.”

“Edwina’s smart and funny. She really gets it, ” Bennetts’ says ofSpeakman. “And Plaza is obviously one of the most respected and awardedproduction companies around. There’s a fantastic energy and positivityhere”.

Plaza executive producer Pete Masterton, who put the two together, thinks they will be abrilliant addition: “I have been watching Sam’s work forquite some time. He’s a remarkable talent, with a huge future. AndEdwina was my first choice to work with him. A team’s energy is soimportant in realising the most for every project and to take a pieceof creative to the absolute best level it can be. I think it’s a realcoup to bring them together.”

Since turning up for work this week Bennetts and Speakman have wastedno time and have got straight into several projects. “I love workingwith visual effects, actors and a story, but at the end of the day,it’s all about a good idea,” says Bennetts.
