BBC Knowledge: Honk if you’re human
CB Exclusive – Three Drunk Monkeys has launched the next instalment of the BBC Knowledge campaign, with a spot entitled ‘Honk if you’re human’.
The spot takes the viewer on a humorous journey though some of mankind’s great and not-so-great achievements, ending on the BBC Knowledge brand positioning of ‘A little knowledge goes a long way’. It’s a follow-up to the much-lauded ‘Eat Up Brain’ and ‘Moon Week’ ads.
To bring the idea to life, the Monkeys again teamed up with mixed-media-craftsman/director Sean Pecknold (Grandchildren).
Says Noah Regan, Three Drunk Monkeys’ creative director: “We liked the idea of trying to encapsulate most of man’s achievements in 60 seconds. I think we’ve done a neat job of it while also taking a swipe at those slack chimps.”
BBC Knowledge is BBC Worldwide’s factual and documentary channel – Channel 612 on subscription TV platform FOXTEL.

Great script. Pecknold has done it justice too.
i love these (im allowed to say that, right?)
Amazing. All around.
Nicely written. Beautifully crafted.
What a good way to start the day. Nice one, chaps.
I prefer the other two but I did get excited when I saw there was a new ones of these.
This script feels lighter than the others, which were more surprising (vending machine was a nice fact in there).
Shame they couldn’t get Richard E. Grant again.
All the same, nice stuff indeed.
official rating: 3.5/5* (nice)

well done damo. really well written.
At last, something for the Australian ad industry to be rightly proud of.
Bit rich there 5.08. Do like the work, though.
Kept me interested for 60 seconds. Actually for the 5 minutes or so it took to buffer and load. Good work.

Probably pass me by if I saw the promo on tele.
But, since this is a blog where we’re all esteemed critics, I’d like to say these are rather good. Not extremely good, but rather good.
