SIMONE-DREWRY-web.jpgSimone Drewry, managing director Mango Sydney, is set to join Kaper as its new UK MD in January 2013.

The integrated PR agency Kaper, PR Week’s Best New Consultancy 2011, is part of the Karma Comms Group. Drewry will report to agency founder Chris McCafferty.

Drewry will help drive the expansion of the two-year-old, award-winning agency.  She will focus on new business acquisition and on working closely with Kaper’s two sister agencies, creative ad agency Karamarama and content production company Kream.

She joins Kaper following nearly five years as MD of Mango in Sydney, the DDB Worldwide integrated comms agency. At Mango, she has overseen the agency’s most successful period, including winning AdNews PR Agency of the Year and B&T’s Agency of the Year. Her clients included Volkswagen, McDonald’s and Australia’s number one telco network, Telstra. She currently also sits on the DDB Sydney board.

She has successfully grown Mango from its roots as a traditional PR company into a multi-faceted communications consultancy working across publicity, experiential, sponsorship and social media.

“Simone is one of Australia’s highest profile PR executives and we are very fortunate to have tempted her to join Kaper,” says McCafferty.  “Simone’s track record of success with integrated campaigns within a multi-agency environment is the perfect fit for Kaper’s vision.  We’re confident she will help drive Kaper’s continued growth.”

“I couldn’t turn this role down. The chance to work within a creative business, such as the Karma Comms Group, that has a truly integrated vision for PR is rare. In less than two years Kaper has gathered some real energy and momentum and I hope to help build on that. Chris’s reputation is stellar and I can’t wait to start working with him,” says Drewry.

Kaper was founded in mid 2010 by McCafferty, ex-MySpace, MSN and Shine communications director. Clients include MasterCard, Unilever, Time Out, The Huffington Post and WWF.
