TV debuted nationally last night with a 60-second brand commercial. It positions eftpos users in control of their own money. Each eftpos user is portrayed as a king, symbolizing the power they have over their financial destiny. The concept was borne out of the current financial reality.

In spite of a decline in credit card volumes and record low usage, 73% of Australians with credit cards continue to roll over their balances each month, paying interest as a result.

In these uncertain times people strive for control and certainty with their spending and eftpos offers that. The take-out: That eftpos users pay with their own money and spend only what they have.

“People are looking for simple things to stay on top and eftpos’ one-touch chq and sav buttons is a simple way to be in control. That’s why ‘eftpos is the way Australia pays’.”

M&C Saatchi Executive Creative Director Ben Welsh said the need to control money is something virtually everyone can relate to, especially in today’s economic climate: “The crown motif is a brutally simple articulation of how eftpos users are afforded control over their money, so they can in turn afford the things they need in life”.
